Dear Chicago,

I wanna break up with you, this is not working.  It’s not you, it’s me.  I’m sick of your depressing mood.  And I think it’s rubbing off on everyone.  You have broken me down this Winter.

I’m so tired of wearing my Winter coat, and not to mention Winter accessories, they have all taken a beating.  My pocket linings all have holes- the feathers are coming out of my down. My gloves are all worn out from shoveling snow, and scraping ice off of the wind shield.  I’m tired of wearing hats- even though I just did by a new one the other day, only because of the color.  Com ‘on I would like to show off this hair- it’s nice hair!! Let me not forget how you’ve messed up my boots.  I can’t stand the sight of them, and can’t wait to throw them away!  They are just run down, usually I can use them for two seasons but you kicked their ass!  I’ve already thrown away one of my favorite pairs because of you. They were so bad, I couldn’t even donate them to Goodwill.  In case you didn’t know the Winter season is OVER!  Try finding a nice Winter coat or boots right now, that’s mission impossible here in Chicago.  Everything has gone on sale!  And yeah I have snagged up some good deals on boots, I’m just not ready to hit the pavement with them yet.  I don’t think my babies could handle your current mood.

I’m ready for Spring and I think you should try it. Let the sun and warm weather in, some color would be good for you.  Sorry to say this but you’re looking dingy- not everyone would tell you this unless they really cared.  I hate seeing you like this.  And truthfully, all of Chicago is tired of your current mood.  SNAP OUT OF IT!!!! We want to show off our outfits, not cover them up with bulky coats!  And I’m not telling you to go over board and bring out the scorching hot weather, making it so that we want to walk around naked.  But make it warm enough for me to layer beautiful pieces of clothing.  I wanna look cute again, and this Winter coat just isn’t cutting it anymore.

In case you haven’t checked a calendar lately, its March 27th Spring started a week ago.  Yeah I know it’s only been a week, and that’s why I’m not giving up on you just yet… I love you Chicago, but my clothes can’t take it anymore.  Please feel better.  ♥
